maths tumble.

This week in school for  maths we did a maths tumble. In the maths tumble we have to do   number of the day. For Number of the day we have to pick a number. My number was 18 after that we use  materials to make number 18. We so had to say how many tens were in the number. Our  second task was addition and subtraction. We had to addition tow numbers. Our third was multiplication and bivision. Once we finished the must do task we could choose any activity for the tumble.
I really enjoyed doing the number for the day activity.

stop motion

In class we made a stop motion video. We used playdough to make our shapes. Next I took a photo then  I took a photo again. You can change the shapes. I like stop motion because you can use lego and playdough to make a character and animals too.

Technolgy chaellenge.

Hi blogger I made a go board with MS Sands and Mr Kim. First we had to cut wood with a saw, second we did lines on our  boards. Third we got nails and a hammer we used the hammer to put nails in the square. Fourth we put  rubber bands on our square. With Mr R we did a challenge call the bridge. challenge. first we got a plastic cup and  scissor and paper and a tape. second we built it. after the bridge competton. Oscar group won the competton. 

26th of july 2018 new playground.

Hi bloggers , Last week we had a playground opening and Miss McGrath and Mr Craig cut the ribbon to open the playground. Everyone was excited  to go on  the playground.
 What I like  about the playground is the zipline because  you have to glide across to the other side. I also like the slide which is green in colour. I had lots of fun that day.

 

The zoo trip.

The week before  we went to the  Auckland zoo. We found  facts  about  the animals. There were two zoo keepers who told us about the kiwis. Kiwis come out at night time. Kiwis eggs are big and heavy. I also saw some birds and other animals. I had lots of fun. My favourite animals in the zoo was red panda. I learned that we have to keep our environment safe to protect our animals. 

tiritiri matangi blog

Last week we went to Tirtiri Matangi to look at endangered animals. We had to come  to school very early at 7.30 in the morning. We catch the bus to the ferry to go to Tirtiri Matangi. On the ferry we had a ilttle cafe. We went to pick up people from the gold harbour. then we got to Tiriri Matangi  the  workers helped us. The workers on Tirtiri Matangi told us some instructions. On the island there thew tracks for walking. On the island i saw different types for birds. my favourite bird is the robin. I learn than there no pest on the island. I had a awesome time. Des Hunt visits WAIKOWHAI primay.

Today Des Hunt came to your school.
He is a writer  who wrote books adventure and  actipn.
He showed us some his some of his books.


My favourite part was big explosion. He yous the lighteer and ges. 
He use sceince to help him make his books more interesting.

Now that i have seen this presentation
We can read Des Hunts books.
And we can ask questions.

Book sell reading. by Rua

In reading we did a book sell.  First we read the book,then we had to make a poster to explain the book . Then we had to take the picture of the book. After,  we had to explain the  story .

Fractions work .

In maths we did ordering fractions. We had  to make shapes for  the fractions on a math learning center. We had to order them from smallest to biggest and sometimes biggest to smallest.It was easy because I have been practising at home.I enjoyed doing  fractions in maths.

Easter week .

 In Easter i learnt to not eat chocolate after dinner . 

because it gave you  a sore tummy 
and you get  sick .

thinking hats Slideshow

We had to do thinking hats to describe about our school gala day .
We had to write a sentences on  each  thinking hat .
My favourite part of Slideshow was changing the back ground  I use Tongan flag as one of my back ground .

Magical world of crazy science .

Today we went to watch a magical  world of crazy science . My favourite part was when Richard made fire .
Theye used the lighter and fuel . Then he tried to burn the bottle but it didn't it work .Then he use the fuel to burn the fire .  To burn the grain you need oxygen . He mad  fire works . I would like to learn more about  fire. I will find out more about fire by looking on a website .

Book week

 To walk round the Junior court .
We parade at the Junior court  . In Manaku we dress up as iron man , spider man, captain  america .  
We had to clap when  the music  was on .
My favourite part  was of the book week was the parade .
My favourite carta is iron man .

makeing a tent.

In class i made  a tent for math.

We had to use a piece of cardboard, clay and tooth picks.

first we wrote our name on the cardboard .
second we got our materials .
Third we built our  tent . we used clay to hold our tooth picks together.
I found that the tooth  piclcs were falling down , so i decided to use more clay to
hold them up.
It was fun making tents wlith tooth picks.
I made a square and a triangle and a rectangle.

In week 2 I worked on my setting for my character. When I did this I had to make sure I described my work. My WALT was to add interesting words. This is my final product, Check it out!
